In another exciting night of cross boundary collaboration, Two Cultures, One Voice: Israel Meets Mali at the Rialto Center for the Arts was a mystical evening.

The beat and sound filled the Rialto Theatre Hall as the crowd moved to this whimsical music.

During the night, the 2012 Rialto Pioneer Award was given to Kwanza Hall, District 2 Atlanta City Council member.  The award honors those who have advocated for the arts and made significant contributions to strengthen the downtown area.

With strings and drums these two artist from distinct parts of the world added an international style to the home town Atlanta crowd.  Dancing was in the mix as the band encouraged everyone to get up and participate in the lively music that one simply could not resist.

Coming up, the final performance for the 2012 season on April 28, Ponche Sanchez & Terence Blanchard in Cubano Be! Cubano Bop! A Tribute to Chano Pozo & Dizzy Gillespie.
