All of the greatest bands to ever plug into an amplifier wanted to change the world. Be that by their socially or politically charged lyrical narrative, their musical power and aggression standing tall to rebel against the tidal wave of shit dominating the airwaves or creating something totally unique due to the frustration and stagnation of what their peers around them are serving up. Meet Sheffield’s While She Sleeps. How do they want to change the world? By channeling all of the above into their phenomenal debut full-length album, ‘This Is The Six’.
Fuelled by a militant DIY punk rock ethic (the band design their own artwork and t-shirts, send their own merch by hand and insisted that only the members of the band performed every last note on the record), while success has been forthcoming at a staggering rate in Britain, Sleeps have already got an eye on world domination. “I want this to be an eye-opener for America,” says Mat. “I don’t think there’s a band in America that are doing anything like what we’ve captured on this album so I want this to be a fresh take on heavy music for people all over the world to get into. This is the band we want to show the world that we are.”
Fresh from destroying stages in Australia on the Soundwave festival, UK metal act- WHILE SHE SLEEPS will be hitting the road with Parkway Drive for the band’s first ever tour of North America later this month.
The tour, which launches in San Diego, California on Friday, March 29th and runs for a total of twenty-one dates, targets major markets including Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia, New York City, Cleveland and Chicago among others.

About Parkway Drive:
Hailing from the hippie-loving beachfront town of Byron Bay, Australia, metalcore outfit Parkway Drive blasted out of their serene surroundings touting a volatile blend of intricate metal riffing, punishing breakdowns, and hardcore’s emotional tension. Named after a rural countryside road, the band was formed in summer 2003 by vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, drummer Ben Gordon, and bassist Jia O’Connor. The five-piece outfit split an EP with like-minded countrymen I Killed the Prom Queen that same year, and later appeared on the local hardcore compilation What We’ve Built. This activity preceded the May 2005 release of Parkway Drive’s debut EP, Don’t Close Your Eyes, on the Sydney-based Resist Records. Parkway Drive continued building a respected name for themselves in the Australian hardcore scene, often opening for Bleeding Through, Shadows Fall, Every Time I Die, Hatebreed, and other American bands who were touring abroad. When the time came to do something traveling of their own, Parkway Drive journeyed to Massachusetts to record their inaugural full-length with Killswitch Engage’s Adam Dutkiewicz. Recorded over a two-week period in 2005, Killing with a Smile entered the Australian Independent Chart at number two upon its February 2006 release. The debut album sold extremely well across the country and later saw a North American release through Epitaph Records, which issued the album in August. For the band’s sophomore effort, Parkway Drive again traveled to Massachusetts to reprise their successful partnership with producer Dutkiewicz. The metallic Horizons emerged from those recording sessions, and Epitaph released the record in October 2006. In 2010 the band came back with its third full-length effort, Deep Blue. In 2012 Atlas arrived, a more adventurous and varied album with production assistance by Slayer producer Matt Hyde.
About Veil of Maya:
Veil of Maya is an American deathcore band, formed in Oak Park, Illinois by members Marc Okubo and Sam Applebaum in 2004. The group is currently signed to sumerian records, have released four full-length studio albums, the latest being Eclipse, and are often considered to be a contributor in the “djent” scene. The name of the band is derived from the Cynic song of the same name. The band originally took use of multiple guitar players, but since 2007 Okubo has been the only guitarist the band employs.
After their second album’s release, the following several months held extensive touring before the writing and recording for the group’s third full-length, [id] began. [id] was released on April 6, 2010, and reached number 107 on the Billboard 200. The band worked again with producer Michael Keene from The Facelessfor this album, who previously produced The Common Man’s Collapse. The album’s name was derived from the main character of the PlayStation game Xenogears, the album itself also holds several concepts and references to other topics in popular culture, especially television shows.
After [id], Pantlis as well left the band, which lead to Dan Hauser replacing him in 2010, the band’s current bassist. On January 13, 2012, Sumerian Records released a teaser for Veil of Maya’s most recent album,Eclipse. On January 17, the single “Vicious Circles” was released onto the iTunes Store. Eclipse was then released on February 28, 2012 and was produced by Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor.
About The World Alive:
Over the past couple of years, The Word Alive has gained a global reputation for pushing the boundaries within their genre. But with new sophomore full-length ‘Life Cycles’, the Arizona quintet is set to join an elite club of heavy music luminaries ushering in the next evolution of melodic metal.
Exploring themes of both personal and musical development, the album marks the moment when The Word Alive took destiny firmly by the reins, determined to eclipse their past accomplishments. The follow-up to acclaimed album ‘Deceiver’, the group enlisted red-hot metal producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men), reaching a new level of musical complexity and composition. Continuing their worldwide attack, the band kicked off the campaign for ‘Life Cycles’ with a U .S. tour with Attack Attack!, before they tear across Europe, and into a full summer on The All Stars Tour. With a new album packed as solid as their tour schedule, The Word Alive are ready to storm into a bright future.
