Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater updates its run at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, bringing Christopher Wheeldon’s After the Rain Pas de Deux into the fold as part of a wonderful Black History Month celebrating Ailey’s legacy.

Last month, Alvin Ailey posthumously received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, accepted on his behalf by Artistic Director Robert Battle. Battle carries on Ailey’s legacy by expanding the company’s repetoire, which now includes the piece Odetta, Matthew Rushing’s tribute to singer and civil rights activist Odetta Holmes. This performance of Odetta also marks its Atlanta premiere as part of this 2015 season.

You can catch Odetta, Revelations, Takademe and more gorgeous dance pieces at the Fox Theatre from February 11 through 15. Read on for the press release for further information on the schedule, performances, and your chance to purchase special discounts.
