Our second journey to The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad took us on the Great Pumpkin Patch Express.

Once again, I was not disappointed at all. From the time I picked up my tickets to the time we left Bryson City, NC I impressed with the whole experience.

While picking up our tickets, we also received trick or treating bags for the pumpkin patch!  Woohoo, candy here we come!

We board the train and head off on a wonderful thirty minute ride through the mountains of North Carolina.  Our trip was in late October and the leaves were changing, the sky was bright blue and the air was crisp!

We listened to ‘It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown’ over the speakers as we made our way to the field.  A photographer was there to take family pictures and all the kids aboard were dressed in Halloween costumes!

My kids were, Snow White, Prince Charmin and Weezy (The Penguin from Toy Story).

Once we arrived in the Pumpkin Patch, we were greeted by Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Lucy! They showed us to the pumpkin patch where we could pick our very own pumpkin to take home with us!  Among the things to do, there was three moonwalks for bouncing and sliding, a wonderful hayride by The Scarecrow himself, bobbing for apples, crafts, tattoos and a chance to write a letter to The Great Pumpkin himself! Our favorite thing hands down was Trick or Treating!!!

Inside of a giant tent was a little town all set up with lights. As you made your way through the street, you stopped at four little houses and knocked on the door. The doors opened and candy was given to you!  My kids thought it was awesome!

After a couple hours running and playing it was time to board the train again.  A relaxing train ride back was the icing on the cake!

The Backstage Beat highly recommends this trip with your family! So far both times to The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad have been magical family  memories I will cherish forever.
