Yo Gabba Gabba Rocked Atlanta!

The Backstage Beat’s Ange Alex took her family out Saturday October 23rd to see this live show in action! From the beginning, they were very aware of the fact that most of the audience was under five. The Fox Theatre was nearly at capacity with families from all over the south. The show started right on time with DJ Lance on a giant screen, saying how he wished he could be here in Atlanta with all of us.  Then the door on the screen opened and out he ran!!  Screams from tiny voices filled the venue and the show went off with a bang!

Right before the intermission break, tons of balloons fell from the sky as happy children danced with their new balloons.  How ingenious of them to do that, it certainly kept the kids occupied during the break.

It was an all around great experience for families.  I definitely suggest that you look up the tour and check it out in a city near you!

Special Super Music Friends:  Atlanta, GA (October 23, 2010) –Drive-By Truckers  joined DJ Lance Rock and the rest of the Gabba Gang at the Fox Theatre as Atlanta’s Super Music Friend segment of Kia Motors Presents YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY! live shows on Saturday, October 23.  Zac Brown joined the cast as the Super Music Friend the following day on Sunday, October 24. Other special guests include a surprise Dancey Dance guest, and Hip-Hop legend Biz Markie who will also join the party showing kids how to beat box with “Biz’s Beat of the Day.”

Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Drive-By Truckers have been playing their own brand of Southern Rock to adoring fans for over a decade. They recently released their tenth album The Big To-Do to critical-acclaim and it has become their highest chart success to date. Over their career they have collaborated with such musical greats as Booker T and Betty LaVette and recently toured with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
