The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour is a new kind of event that showcases the hobby of model railroading.  Sponsored by the Model Railroad Industry Association and by the World’s Greatest Hobby Program, the show is intended to introduce the public to model railroading in an entertaining, lively and family friendly atmosphere.  The show hopes to create new train enthusiasts by exposing the public to the very best model railroading has to offer.  The hobby of model railroading has a unique ability to bring the family together in activities that teach many skills. Model Railroad skills span from carpentry to artistry, from electrical engineering to historical research.

Our family went this Saturday and our children were awestruck by the sheer volume of activities and excitement.  One highlight was definitely the Thomas the Tank Engine ride which was geared more toward the 2-5 year old crowd.  The other was hands down the Lego exhibition.  There was a table for children to stretch their skills at building in the time-honored Lego tradition. The models built with Legos were stunning.  They were incorporated with real moving trains, a neighborhood Kroger, a schoolyard with moving swings and see-saws, and a Hard Rock Cafe!

Come on out Sunday! They are open until 5pm. $10 per adult and children get in for FREE!!! Don’t miss this one if you like model trains, Legos and various other hobby items! This event will not be back in Atlanta for at least a few years down the road so DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!
