Follow the steps and join us in supporting this cause to help feed the hungry in our fair city of Atlanta.

The Hunger Walk/Run began in 1984 as a grassroots movement in response to the issue of hunger locally and globally.  You can help the Atlanta Community Food Bank today!  All proceeds collected through Hunger Walk remain in our community.

Schedule of Events

  • 12:00 Park Opens/Event Registration Begins
  • 2:00  5K Run and Walk
  • 4:00  Park Closes

PARKING IS FREE! All walkers and runners are encouraged to park in the Turner Field Blue Lot to avoid crossing the street.  The Blue Lot is just above the Green Lot where the event is held on Capitol Avenue.  Registration begins at noon. Come early to enjoy entertainment, food and games before the races begin. Festivities conclude at 4:00 p.m. The Run and Walk will take you through downtown Atlanta.

Note About Pets

We must apologize, but due to liability concerns and Turner Field policies we are not allowed to have family pets at the Hunger Walk/Run. Service animals are, of course, welcome.

How to Get Involved

For over 26 years, the Hunger Walk/Run has united Atlantans of all ages and athletic backgrounds to support hunger and poverty relief. Over 11,000 participants come together each March to raise more than $500,000.

All walkers who raise or contribute $25 or more will receive a free Hunger Walk/Run t-shirt on the day of the walk. If you’re a runner, your registration fee entitles you to a t-shirt the day of the event.  Once you complete your registration print out a copy of your confirmation and bring it with you on March 13th to receive your Hunger Walk/Run t-shirt.

Set your goal

The more funds you collect, the better we can all serve the community. Hundreds of programs that feed the hungry (such as food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, afterschool programs and senior centers) count on the Hunger Walk/Run so they can continue to serve those in need.  Our best advice for successful fundraising? Ask EVERYONE you know – friends, family, business colleagues, neighbors, congregation members and more. Don’t forget your social networks like Facebook and Twitter – they’re great ways to let people know you’re participating in the Hunger Walk and you’d like their support!  Remember … no donation is too large or small.

Restaurants Donating to Hunger Walk/Run

Visit one of these participating restaurants and support Hunger Walk/Run.  Your donation when you dine helps the Atlanta Community Food Bank raise much needed funds to help those in need.  Get out there.  Join the fight against hunger.

Eddie Owen Presents an evening of Song from the Lyrical Genius of Levi Lowrey, Fester Hagood and Brother Shine White!

If there is any part of you that wants to do this workshop, do it.
Even if you’ve never written a song.
Even if you have a notebook full of half-finished songs that you would never want anyone to see.
Even if you think you’re already really awesome at songwriting and know everything there is to know about it.
The thing is, anyone can learn. Anyone can get better. You will be amazed and delighted at what you’re able to come up with when you’ve got guidance, encouragement, accountability, and very specific assignments.
