The Issues have become a well-known fixture on the Atlanta indie music scene with their brand of hard pop/rock that has been compared to Green Day and Iggy Pop. Founded in 2004 by “Wango,” who also serves as the lead vocalist, the Issues are preparing for the release of their latest musical offering, “It Goes To 11.” This new disc promises to have everything that Issues’ fans have come to know and love about the band. No strangers to accolades, the Issues have enjoyed status as an Official Budweiser band, was selected one of the top 6 original bands in the Southeast for BMI’s Independent Music World Series, reached the Top 500 in Billboard Magazine’s Annual Songwriting Contest, and have self-generated national, regional and local airplay. The band has been featured on Comcast’s “Bands on Demand,” and was the winner of the Dave FM unsigned band battle.

Sharing duties with Wango are Geoff Adams on guitar/vocals and Pat Turner on drums. Three very talented young men, the Issues thrill crowds with their exciting live shows and have been attracting the attention of the press and other music industry professionals.

“The Issues are the perfect combination of heart and skill. They are highly energetic and extremely melodic. . . . It’s not just what they play; it’s how they play it. ” – Lee Swartz, Sony Publishing.

With an endorsement like this, the Issues are destined to great things.

The band’s EP “Alien Tattooed Lover” was well received by radio across the nation, and this CD promises to generate the same level of support. With requests already forthcoming for the CD, this new music could well be the Issues’ breakout moment.

Fans can get a copy of “It Goes to 11” at the release show at Smiths Olde Bar , on Friday, April 15, at 9:00 p.m. Opening sets will be performed by Buck O Five and the Orkids. Tickets are only $10 in advance or $12 at the door to see all three bands. Ticket links are available on Smith’s website or through the band.
