– Family fun is about to hit Atlanta, brick by tiny, colorful brick. LEGOLAND Discovery Center is coming to Phipps Plaza, and communities across the Southeast are anxiously anticipating the new attraction. To kick off construction, LEGOLAND Discovery Center invites city leaders, influencers and the media to share their vision and get the inside scoop on Atlanta’s newest economic stimulus and tourism draw.
Additional special guests include Merlin Entertainments executives, prominent Atlanta business leaders and area children who will participate in a ceremonial LEGO brick dump, signaling the start of construction on the 32,000 square-foot attraction.
LEGOLAND Discovery Center will offer a fun, highly interactive and educational two-to-three-hour indoor experience ideal for families with children three to 10 years old. Interactive play areas will include a 4D cinema, exciting LEGO rides, special party rooms and the popular MINILAND exhibit designed to reflect Atlanta’s iconic buildings and skyline. The $12 million LEGOLAND Discovery Center is slated to open at Phipps Plaza, one of the Southeast’s premier shopping destinations, in Spring 2012
