Atlanta’s largest all inclusive New Years’ Eve event, The Downtown Countdown, has announced the lineup for the November 5, 2011 competition at Vinyl. Celebrity Judges and fan votes will determine the winner of the competition. The first place prize will be $500 and the honor to be the opening band at the 2011 Downtown Countdown.
The first tier of the competition allowed fans to vote for their favorites to perform at the November 5th event. The top five bands that received the most votes are Wesley Cook, Barrell House, Death is a Dialogue, The Issues, & Powerline.

Tickets are available now at Vinyl’s website for $7 presale or $10 at the door. Doors for the event open at 7:30PM and the live music begins at 8:30 PM. All net proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to Music 4 More, a 501 (c) 3 charity that works to provide financial and in-kind resources to sustain and foster under-funded music programs in schools and communities across the United States. Music 4 More will use the funds to purchase instruments and supplies for the Atlanta area music classrooms. Check out their website here.
The Downtown Countdown, Atlanta is part of a national series of New Year’s Eve events which also take place Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. This year, the party will return to the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta and each all inclusive ticket will feature 6 party areas, with multiple forms of entertainment as well as open bar, full dinner buffets, late night breakfast, balloon drops, decorations and party favors.
