Honeyed jams and twangy tunes will fill the Lizard Lounge for two nights in November. A Boston folk doubleheader featuring the rich lyrics of Mr. Dietrich Strause and the mandolin strumming of Jimmy Ryan & Hayride rolls in on November 8th and the 22nd—snag a ticket in advance for 5 bucks or 7 if you head on over to the club.

The ridiculously talented Strause has two fine albums under his belt: a self titled debut and Laborsongs & Barkingdogs. Tracks from both feature a mastery of atmospheric Americana, deceptively cheerful anguish, and willowy romance. He’ll be joined by band mates Laurence Scudder, Jim Larkin and Billy Beard.

Jimmy Ryan, the accomplished bluegrass performer of Morphine and Blood Oranges fame, will add to the night with his Hayride band (Duke Levine, Andrew Mazzone and Billy Beard). Jimmy Ryan & Hayride released their EP Gospel Shirt in 2005, ingeniously blending traditional and contemporary roots, country, rock, you name it—they certainly aren’t afraid to churn all these elements together.

Come down to the Lizard Lounge for a spectacular evening of music. Doors open at 8:30 and the show is at 9. Remember, there are two dates—come to one, or both!
