For almost two years, The Backstage Beat has been one of the thousands of supporters and prayer warriors for little Lana Turner. We first heard about Lana when she was diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma and she was in for the fight of her life. With so much love and prayer being sent to Lana, she fought away cancer, and beat the mere 30 % chance of survival she was given.
God was good to the Turner family and Lana was pronounced Cancer free last October.
With every post of her beautiful pictures on her “Pray for Lana Turner” facebook page, you see that she is full of life and you realize how precious of a gift this life is.
The Backstage Beat will be watching with love and pride as Miss Lana Turner lights up this years Macy’s Tree in Lenox Square!
This is a tradition in Atlanta for more than sixty years. This years spectacular show features American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, and performances by Grammy Award winning gospel duo Mary Mary, Season 8 winner of So You Think You Can Dance and Georgia native Melanie Moore and newcomer Erica Nicole.
Lana will be joined this year by Gabrielesimone Washington, who is also one of the young patients of the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta who have helped to flipped the switch and light up the tree for seven years now.
This is something not to be missed, especially if this little girl has made a place in your hearts like she has ours.
Way to Shine, Lana! Way to Shine!
