This evening, the Boston Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual corporate fundraiser, Presidents at Pops. The event generates support for many BSO programs–such as the free concerts on the Esplanade and the Youth and Community Outreach–but it also provides a chance to sponsor students of the Days in the Arts at Tanglewood summer camp. DARTS is open to fifth, sixth, and seventh-graders, and exposes the students to an array of disciplines ranging from music to theater to dance. It’s a great experience for the students, and Presidents at Pops provides the opportunity to fund a talented young musician, dancer, or performer.
In continued entertainment, Keith Lockhart and John Williams will lead the Pops, joined by Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Gershwin, bluegrass, comedy, and film fanfare will light up the evening, complete with a balloon drop to celebrate Williams’ 80th birthday!
The event begins at 8pm at Symphony Hall, tickets available $41.00 – $105.00
