The magic begins again when the two-time Emmy Award winning and two-time Tony® Award nominated production PETER PAN takes flight!  Cathy Rigby takes flight in an all new production of PETER PAN, coming to the Fox Theatre August 7 – 12.  PETER PAN is a unique, family friendly attraction of spectacle and fantasy.  The thrill of flying, timeless magical moments and a captivating hook will mesmerize young and old alike.  The legend you thought you know, is now the adventure you never dreamed possible…Cathy Rigby is PETER PAN!

Joining the Tony® Award nominee Cathy Rigby is Broadway’s Brent Barrett as Mr. Darling/Hook and Kim Crosby (Cinderella in the original INTO THE WOODS) who plays Mrs. Darling.

PETER PAN is produced by McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Nederlander Presentations, Albert Nocciolino in association with Larry Earl Payton, Michael Filerman, Heni Koenigsberg and La Mirada Theatre For The Performing Arts.  Direction by Glenn Casale who directed the 1999 Tony® Award nominated and Emmy winning PETER PAN starring Cathy Rigby.  Mr. Casale has been a resident at the California Musical Theatre for almost 23 seasons where he has directed over 550 shows.  The flying sequence choreographer, Paul Rubin, “The Fly Guy”, has choreographed some of the most memorable flying sequences from the Tony Award winning Broadway production of WICKED to Cathy Rigby’s Emmy Award winning DVD of PETER PAN.  He has flown Cathy in over 1500 performances and choreographed flying sequences in over 300 different productions of PETER PAN in more than 10 countries.  The creative team includes Patti Columbo (Choreographer), Keith Levenson (Musical Director), Michael Gilliam (Lighting Design), Julie Ferrin (Sound Design), Sean Boyd (Fight Director) and Julia Flores (Casting Director).

PETER PAN will play the Fabulous Fox Theatre August 7 – 12.  Performances are as follows:  Tuesday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday, August 8 at 8:00 p.m.; Thursday, August 9 at 8:00 p.m.; Friday, August 10 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, August 12 at 1:30 p.m. For more information visit http://cathyrigbyispeterpan.com/.

Legendary Americana singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen is on tour in support of his latest release, the bluegrass compilation Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions (Dualtone Records). Thirty years since his debut No Kinda Dancer, and twenty-six after taking the roots genre by storm on West Textures, Robert Earl pays tribute to his favorite music and artists with amazing interpretations of bluegrass standards. Joined by the likes of Sara Watkins, Natalie Maynes, Lyle Lovett Robert Earl is in good company on his 12th studio record.

Robert Earl talks with The Backstage Beat about cooking up the title for the album, recording outside of songwriting, advocating for fair artist compensation, his appearance on the Texas Monthly cover with Lyle Lovett, and more.

You Can Go Home Again: Interview with Home by Dark’s James Casto

Today, we bring you a delightful interview with James Casto, creator of songwriter concert series Home by Dark. A regular fixture at Chukkar Farms in Alpharetta, Home by Dark will embark on a new series at the Gwinnett Center for Performing Arts on June 13 to bring the best and brightest in engaging performers to music lovers in an intimate, homey setting. James communicates the Home by Dark experience so eloquently, and it’s a great comfort to know that the music world has such a series to further bridge the gap between performer and audience.

The upcoming show at Gwinnett Center features artists JP Williams and James David Carter, both of whom James sings the praises of as brilliant, captivating talents.

This Thursday, January 8, Atlanta’s von Grey head to Kennesaw State University for a special performance with the KSU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. Not only will von Grey premiere new material with a symphonic arrangement, but proceeds from the event will also benefit KSU’s Proctor Scholarship. 

TBB spoke with Annika von Grey about the upcoming show, the band’s Loundfund campaign, and the girls’ year ahead.
