Food Truck Throwdown

Recovering from a disappointing Red Sox season, Boston hungered for a win Saturday at the 2012 Food Truck Throwdown. Hey NY, at least we can kick your ass in food trucks by winning this year’s People’s Choice Award for Best Food Truck City.

While the quality of food may have been impressive, the long lines and crowds were a joke. The event was held in Dewey Square on Saturday, October 13th, from 11am-9pm.  Boston-side vendors, Bon Me, Roxy’s, Kickass, The Cookie Monstah and others doled it out against New York food truck contenders. Special thanks to Jetblue for sponsoring this year’s event. The signs plastered to each truck made sure you didn’t miss their name. This year my vote goes to the Cookie Monstah for their Chocolate Chunk signature cookie and Monstah ice cream sandwiches! Check them out at http://thecookiemonstah.com/the-truck/ .

Did you miss out on Saturday’s event? Catch some of your favorite food trucks at the Newport Food Truck Festival, Saturday, October 20th from 11am-4pm at the Newport Yachting center. Get your tickets at http://ftfnenewport.eventbrite.com/.
