On October 14th, Franklin Park Zoo will host a panel as part of the zoo’s centennial year. The event, “Opening Eyes for 100 Years: Franklin Park Zoo – Past Present and Future,” will be a breakfast discussion held at the William J. Devine Golf Club in Dorchester, just across the street from the zoo!

The panel–discussing the importance of Franklin Park Zoo to the city in realms historical, political, and communal–will be moderated by WBUR’s Delores Handy and will feature guests such as former governor Michael Dukakis, Zoo New England Board member and zoo authority Dr. Rory Browne, and Bay State Banner executive editor Howard Manly. Dr. Browne will also lead a zoo tour after the discussion.

Help celebrate 100 years of this lovely city fixture. For ticket information, you can contact Emily Irving at [email protected] or 617-989-2012. The event begins at 10 am and runs until 2pm.
