The last time Monstrosity Championship Wrestling (MCW) graced Atlanta was outside in the sweltering June heat at the Starlight Drive-In’s 2012 Rock ‘n’ Roll Monster Bash. Before and after Monster Bash, intown wrestling promoters worked diligently to find a home venue for MCW somewhere downtown and now they’ve finally found one! (This was a great feat because proper wrestling rings take up a lot of space and you still want a crowd to be able to see the action too.) Heading up the charge to bring more wrasslin’ to Atlanta was and is Wrestling with Pop Culture’s (WPC) Founder & Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Williams. Williams is one of the hardest working bloggers around town and also an uber wrestling fanatic. Recently he won the coveted Reader’s Choice Award for Best Local Blog (WPC) in Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta 2012. He also hosts an internet-based radio wrestling radio show, Georgia Wrestling Now on BlogTalkRadio.com, on Monday nights at 7 p.m. EST. (That being said, this means that I’ve had more wrestling conversations with the man than I care to admit. I blame this partly on him and partly on randomly becoming acquainted with two wrestling company CEOs in the past year. Haha!)
On to the main event – Wrestling with Pop Culture presents the return of Monstrosity Championship Wrestling on Friday, November 16 at 8 p.m. at Club Famous (inside Famous Pub in the Toco Hills shopping center) in Atlanta. MCW will bring out all the horror superstars once again, including the Alabama Wolfman; Dragula; the Kentucky Wolfman; adversaries Rock, Paper & Scissors; “Calm Like a Bomb” Pandora; the Washington Bullets; “The Zombie King” Papa Marko; “The Monster Killer” Assassino; “Bona Fide” Fred Yehi; “The Demigod” Mason; and the MCW debut of the tag team known as Worst Case Scenario (Ethan Case and Eli Evans). Professor Morte of the Silver Scream SpookShow will host the event along with the rest of the SpookShow crew. The Casket Creatures will be rocking the horror out or rock ‘n’ roll for the delight of your fiendish ears. A limited edition Yehi t-shirt will be available from Reckognize Apparel exclusively at this event. There will be a raffle with prizes that will include a bag of edible body parts from Pine Street Market, a Dead Elvis flask from Diamond*Star*Halo, artwork from Neon Armour and other prizes! Many more surprises await you on this night of fun, horror freaks, and wrasslin’, including Cayrum Honeys fiendish freebies and devilish drink specials such as a creepy drink concoction known as “To Hell You Ride!” So what are you waiting for? Bring it on out to the monster wrasslin’ show, fool!
