Named by Billboard Magazine as the “Artist on the Verge” in their Best Bets of 2012 issue!

Connor Christian & Southern Gothic have been lighting up crowds all over the US with their infectious blend of country, roots-rock and Americana.  The Georgia-based, multi-instrumentalist quintet, known for dynamic live performances, thick vocal harmonies and huge melodies, has spent the better part of the past three years on the stage in clubs, theaters and festivals, sharing stages with acts ranging from Zac Brown Band, Corey Smith and Big & Rich, to Uncle Kracker, Heart and Foreigner.  New Hometown, their forthcoming release on Rocket Science Ventures/The Orchard, will be available everywhere on February 12, 2013.Connor ChristianFew questions for Connor:

Share the stage with anyone Dead or Alive who and why?

Emmy Lou Harris  the most innovative harmonies! I’d love to hear what she sang along with my songs. Also really love to do a double piano rocker with Beth Hart. She’s wild!

Who is on your playlist right now?

Shovels & Rope, Brandi Caralile, Dawes, Eli Young Band, Regina Spektor, Some Dark Holler, Young the Giant and always Sam Cooke, the Band, Radiohead, Jamey Johnson, Indigo Girls & older Ryan Bingham.

Describe your band mates.

Joe– the shy guy. He can play a MEAN bass (and guitar too if you ask him) but if you (meaning anyone who doesn’t know him) wants to talk to him, you’ll have to find him first.
Spirko– he’s my right hand – not only does he play just about every instrument under the sun, he’s an amazing band leader, promoter, and great friend.
Elena– the queen of big smiles and outgoing as you could hope her to be. Always has a kind word and healing hand.
Shawn– the nicest tough guy you’ll ever meet. He’s carved out of marble, but if you ever need help, he’s the first person to be there for you. Shawn has been with me longer than anyone else-since October 2004, and on top of his mad drumming skills, he’s someone who I can count on in all areas of my life

Tell us what we should expect to hear from”New Hometown”.

You can expect a LOT from New Hometown- there are 20 songs! There’s a little bit of everything here- Country, rock ‘n roll, Folk, Americana, even a little reggae. The album, in large part, is auto biographical so it’s also my most personal work so far. I also had more help on this one, from Jeff Spirko, Channing Wilson, & Stuart Oliver, so it’s a little more diverse too.

Advice for new Players?

Yikes, that’s always a tough one… I’m the worst example of how to do anything! I took the long way just about every chance I got.

What is coming up for CCSG?

So much on the horizon for CCSG. “Sheets Down” premieres on CMT.com Jan. 22 and “New Hometown” is in stores Feb 12. After that, we just do what we do- take it to the highway and hope people keep catching onto what we do and spreading the word!

381878_10100333163324825_820485542_nJeff Spirko Friend and band mate had this to say about Connor :

“Connor Christian is a one of a kind personality, vocalist, performer, and true artist. Right from the beginning I was always impressed with the songwriting ability. I am honored to be able to co-write with him. His vocal timbre sets him apart from everyone in the business, and he has complete command of the room when he starts singing. When you combine these things with the killer instinct, and do-it-yourself attitude that he has brought to this band, it was clear from the beginning that this guy/ band had something special!”
