Almost 4 years after the last My Chemical Romance album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, Gerard Way will release his first solo venture Hesitant Alien. The album is available for pre-order now on, bundled with some goodies as well as a free download of the most recent single “No Shows.”

While Danger Days was Way’s and MCR’s (futuristic) Western pastiche phase, Hesitant Alien looks like it exists in a neo-80’s world. The video for “No Shows” is introduced as part of an intergalactic Top of the Pops-like program called Pink Station Zero, so we can be sure that this new release won’t be short on the immersion or entertainment.

Following the release of Hesitant Alien, Way will embark on U.S. tour dates in October and will appear at the Soundwave Festival in Australia in the new year. Check out the dates plus the video for “No Shows.”
