For those who don’t know, Joe B. is also an avid vintage guitar collector and has revived public interest in many of classic guitar models that defined the greatest era of modern music from the 1950’s and 1960’s. The rarest, best playing and sounding and most expensive of these are the 1958-1960 Gibson Les Pauls. “Bursts,” as they are known, often fetch auction prices of $200,000 to $1,000,000 and are considered the Holy Grail among guitarists. Les Paul expert and author of “Burst Believers 1&2” Vic DaPra is a personal friend of Joe B. and keeps him apprised when these Stradivarius’ of our time become available.  What sets Joe Bonamassa apart from other performers is that he isn’t afraid to tour and perform live with these legendary instruments instead of storing them in a glass case like so many collectors.  This is one of the main secret ingredients to his amazing sound and why I will continue to see him live and appreciate his music. So if you love to hear incredible guitar playing at the highest professional level, I highly recommend catching a Joe Bonamassa concert in 2015 and you will not be disappointed.
